Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party 36th Annual Fundraiser

The event of the summer is just around the corner! For 36 years, the Tucker Community Foundation has brought together patriotic community members for the Uncle Sam’s Birthday Party elimination dinner to raise funds for grants and scholarships that support our region. This fundraiser played a vital role in launching the Foundation during its early years and has remained a cornerstone of the organization ever since.

Making Memories

Each year at the party, we remember Dr. Tom Patrick, the original emcee of the event and George Walburn, the original Uncle Sam.

Party Information

  • The party is on Friday, July 3rd at Bear Paw Lodge in Canaan Valley, WV

  • Doors open at 5:15PM and dinner is served at 6:00PM

  • Each ticket is $150

  • A single ticket inclues one (1) elimination entry and two (2) dinners

  • To purchase a ticket, contact a TCF board member or call the TCF office at (304)478-2930.

How It Works

When a participant purchases a ticket, they receive one elimination entry and two dinners. Throughout the evening, Uncle Sam, our charismatic emcee, draws ticket numbers one by one, “eliminating” those tickets from the grand prize drawing of $5,000. However, there are several other lucky spaces on the board, and your ticket could still be drawn for a cash prize or raffle prize along the way.

The final five ticket holders are guaranteed cash prize winners, but the last remaining ticket, #250,  is auctioned off at the end of the night for an even greater chance at winning the grand prize. In addition, separate raffles will be held for a handmade quilt, two Totally Tucker Packages, filled with Tucker County merchandise and gift cards, the Greenbrier Package, featuring a two-night stay at the historic Greenbrier Resort, and the Happy Birthday America Historic Getaway Package, which includes a three-day, two-night tour of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, Virginia.

The “Dashing Stars” quilt was created and donated by Bobbie Cippel for the 2026 USBP raffle.

Table Reservations

Each table sits 10 people and there are 20 tables available to reserve. The reservation price is $200, and that purchase will be donated to the fund of your choice. All table reservations must go through the Tucker Community Foundation’s office at (304) 478-2930; they cannot be made with board members. Guests without a table reservation may sit at any available table at a first-come, first-serve basis.
