BACKGROUND: Bradley J. Ramsey was born in Parsons, WV, in 1951 and was the first in his family to attend college. After studying at Potomac State College, he transferred to West Virginia University, graduating in 1973. Upon returning to Parsons, he worked as a city police officer before beginning a 33-year career with the Tucker County Board of Education, where he served in multiple administrative roles, including truancy officer, attendance director, textbook coordinator, facilities and maintenance director, home school coordinator, and transportation director.
Beyond his dedication to education, Ramsey was deeply engaged in his community, serving as a paramedic and as the mayor of Parsons. Passionate about West Virginia history, U.S. history, politics, and world affairs, he also had a love for steam engines and frequently visited Cass Scenic Railroad. A proud West Virginian and WVU supporter, he celebrated all three of his children graduating from WVU.
This scholarship honors his commitment to education by supporting a Tucker County student in pursuing higher education and building a successful future.
