BACKGROUND: The Barbour Healthy Communities Collaborative was established after Broaddus Hospital's 2013 health needs assessment. Community members were invited to a meeting to discuss the assessment's findings and explore ways to enhance the health of Barbour County residents.

Membership is open to any community provider or organization committed to improving residents' health through wellness initiatives, with all requests presented to the committee for approval.
