Parsons High School Alumni Scholarship Fund
The Parsons High School Alumni Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to graduating Tucker County High School seniors who are descendants of Parsons High School alumni.

DATE ESTABLISHED: January 29, 2001
PURPOSE: To provide scholarships for Tucker County High School graduating seniors who are descendants of PHS alumni.
DISTRIBUTION: Upon the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee and approval by the full Board of Directors.
VARIANCE POWER: If, in the judgment of the TCF Board of Directors, the restrictions and conditions of the fund become unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community, the TCF Board of Directors maintains the right to modify the terms of this fund. TCF has exclusive legal control over any contributed assets.
FUNDING: From alumni of Parsons High School.
BACKGROUND: The Parsons High School Alumni Association was formed in 1974 with J. Kenton Lambert as President, Nina Burns Buchanan as Vice President, and Dovie M. Fansler as Secretary. Board members included Don H. Carr and Patrick I. Nestor. The alumni began awarding scholarships in 1988. The Association was established to foster fellowship among PHS alumni, organize annual reunions, and maintain engagement with activities that reflect positively on the school. The organization is not-for-profit and welcomes all who attended Parsons High School, regardless of graduation status.
