Martha C. Sponaugle Scholarship

The Martha C. Sponaugle Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to graduating seniors from Tucker County High School, with preference given to students demonstrating financial need.

TYPE OF FUND: Scholarship

DATE ESTABLISHED: July 10, 2000

PURPOSE: To provide a scholarship for a Tucker County High School graduate.

DISTRIBUTION: To be determined by the Scholarship Committee of TCF with approval of the Board of Directors. The family requests that consideration be given to financial need of the recipients.

VARIANCE POWER: If, in the judgment of the TCF Board of Directors, the restrictions and conditions of the fund become unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community, the TCF Board of Directors maintains the right to modify the terms of this fund. TCF has exclusive legal control over any contributed assets.

FUNDING: Initial funding provided by Berlin “Bud” Sponaugle, his son and daughter-in-law, Capt. Sid and Sandie Sponaugle, in memory of their wife and mother.

BACKGROUND: This scholarship is established by the family in memory of Bud, Martha, and his parents.
