John & Beulah “Bob” Bartlett Scholarship Fund

TYPE OF FUND: Scholarship

DATE ESTABLISHED: December 2021

PURPOSE: To provide a scholarship to a deserving Randolph or Tucker County student who will be attending college.

DISTRIBUTION: On the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee and final approval by the Board of Directors of TCF.

VARIANCE POWER: If, in the judgment of the TCF Board of Directors, the restrictions and conditions of the fund become unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment, or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community, the TCF Board of Directors maintains the right to modify the terms of this fund.

BACKGROUND: John Bartlett, a veteran, primarily worked for the US Postal Service as a Postmaster and Rural Letter Carrier in Randolph and Tucker Counties.  Beulah “Bob” Bartlett was a schoolteacher and homemaker.  At her death in 2014, she and John had been married for 67 years.  Both John and Beulah were very active in the Montrose community, and family and community were of great importance to them.  John was a 4-H leader and served many years as the mayor of Montrose.  John passed away in August 2021.
