Fraternal Order of Eagles Scholarship Fund

This scholarship honors the legacy of the Davis Fraternal Order of Eagles and supports students with family ties to the organization.

TYPE OF FUND: Scholarship

DATE ESTABLISHED: April 16, 1997

PURPOSE: To provide an annual scholarship for a graduating senior whose parent or grandparents are members of the Davis Fraternal Order of Eagles #936 or Ladies Auxiliary.

DISTRIBUTION: To be awarded to students upon the recommendation of the Scholarship Committee and the approval of the TCF Board of Directors.

VARIANCE POWER: If, in the judgment of the TCF Board of Directors, the restrictions and conditions of the fund become unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community, the TCF Board of Directors maintains the right to modify the terms of this fund.

FUNDING: Contributions from the Davis FOE Aerie #936.

BACKGROUND: Founded on January 31, 1905, the Davis FOE Aerie #936 has long stood for dignity, respect, and opportunity for the working class. The organization has been instrumental in supporting legislation such as the Workers’ Compensation Act, Mothers’ Pensions, Old Age Pensions, and Social Security Laws. The Eagles believe in the right of every ordinary man and woman to pursue a life of happiness and fulfillment, and this scholarship reflects their enduring commitment to that ideal.
