Ride and Shine: Bikes for Upshur Kids
The experience of a kid with a bike fosters freedom and independence, promotes mental and physical health, builds healthy habits and grows community. Ride and Shine is committed to providing every child in Upshur County with this opportunity.
Founded in 2025, Ride and Shine is a volunteer-run nonprofit based in Upshur County dedicated to ensuring that every child who wants a bike can have one. By removing financial barriers, Ride and Shine provides children with new, bike-shop–quality bicycles along with essential safety equipment, including helmets and locks. In 2025, 8 bikes were delivered to local children as Christmas gifts and the organization hopes to distribute 20 bikes in 2026.
