BACKGROUND: Francis Woodrow “Woody” Nestor (1914–1990) was the only son of Arthur and Marie Cupp Nestor. Raised alongside his mother, grandmother, and two sisters after the early deaths of his father and grandfather, Woody developed a deeply kind and generous spirit. After marrying Juanita Wolfe in 1938, he became the proud father of three daughters: Priscilla Ann, Sue Ellen, and Judith. His household of women was a source of great affection and gentle amusement to him.

Known for his quiet generosity, Woody frequently gave away household items, musical instruments, and furniture to those he believed needed them more. Following the devastating flood of 1985, despite being retired and nearly 72, Woody actively helped those affected in St. George, often giving anonymously.

Woody's family—his widow Juanita and daughters Priscilla Poole and Sue Ellen Carpenter—established this fund to continue his legacy of kindness. They shared, “Neither what he kept nor what he gave away means anything to him as he reaps the rewards of Heaven, but his good works here in this life can continue through the auspices of the Tucker Community Foundation.”
